Should I Keep This Bike? - Introducing my 2022 Triumph Rocket 3 GT
Переглядів 6 тис.Рік тому
The 2022 Rocket 3 GT 221SE is an amazing bike! Boasting the largest production motorcycle engine available today, this bike is a powerhouse in both horsepower and torque. Its not very practical though and today we'll take a look at this bike and why I question whether or not I should keep it long term. Boy its fun though and I hope you enjoy this last unveiling of our current stable of bikes. L...

Why Harley Doesn't Have to Lose for Indian to Win - Why I chose the 2023 Indian Pursuit DarkHorse

There are many reasons I went with Indian over a Harley but I want to be clear that this video is not to throw shade at Harley. I simply think Indian is the more exciting brand right now and they are making the market for this style of bike much more interesting. I have both owned and ridden Harleys and think they are responsible for the popularity of the performance bagger market. Indian has s...

Hey man. New subscriber here. Question. Did you took it in for tune up? Did it gave you any issues? I did a stage 1 air fikter on mine and they tuned up for it, but im about to install the same exhaust as yours on the same bike and wasnt sure if tunning is an issue. Some people tells me yes on other bikes, but nothing on this bike yet. What was your experience post install.

As others have said, the competition from Indian should be welcomed by Harley guys. It has and will continue to make Harley improve their products, if they don’t then more people will switch to Indian. Competition is best for us all. Harley guys shouldn’t try to make Indian owners feel bad, that is childish. And vice versa.

Indian has the most maintenance free bike. The gear drive primary is a deal breaker for me. The challenger has all the modern stuff out the gate. Harley Davidson just started to catch up.

I just don’t care about the electronics give me an old school I know how to work on it will last me my whole life I got a late 80s hog and early 90s sportster and I can fix anything on them. Good luck repairing the electronics on your new Indian/harley But looking at you I can understand why you did it you probably could not fix anything just saying what I think about all the fancy gadgets people don’t need on a bike when your attention should be on the road and other traffic which is deadly when riding a bike

I recently received my M1 license and l'm in the market of purchasing my first motorcycle ! I asked the sales men or their supervisor at the Indian dealership if I can test ride an Indian Chief Bobber, their response was "no, because I need riding experience, I need motorcycle insurance, and I need to own a motorcycle" ! . Now I see why people told me before hand they have had bad experience at Indian dealerships, had to see it with my own eyes !

So the main reason I choose Harley over Indian is for a couple or reason. 1 Indian is owned by Polaris. Polaris also owned or still own Victory. they had a great bike and got a lot of people to buy a victory. Then one day they came along and said k we are done. we aren't going to build victory anymore. we will make parts for 10ish years and then we will be done. that was way not cool. Polaris totally dumped on their customers. 2 they are way two expensive. i own a 2023 Goldwing and a 2020 heritage. both are good bikes. and way less money then Indian. Indian is a good quality bike don't get me wrong. I just think they dumped on all their customers. that wasn't cool.

Another great video. Sounds really excellent! I could probably be comfortable with this dB level around town, but even with a helmet I think I'd get a headache on longer highway/ touring rides, especially out of state. I love the stereo on my Indian (I'm not 100%, but am at least 90% certain my V&H pipes on my youtube videos aren't as throaty or raw as yours. My best sound example of the pipes is the Clear Creek Canyon video where I'm deep in 5 mountain Tunnels) but think I've found a good satisfying balance between throaty exhaust and listening to my music.

I won't ever ride an Indian motorcycle for one reason. They ran a bunch of Harley bashing videos to try and turn people away from buying Harley Davidson motorcycles. Everything in those videos were lies. If you can't take on your competitor w/o using lies, you don't get my money.

I recently retired, and have decided that I may as well go whole hog on my purchase. I am looking to get the 2024 Indian Pursuit Limited w/PowerBand in the Icon Copper...40k, but I am figuring, since I may only have 15-20 years of riding left in my life, why not spend for premium, if it's your sunset years. Like most folks...I am not a fanboy for either company, but the Indian Premium model seems to offer more value out of the box, than a CVO.

Which company is bigger is complicated. Harley Davidson is bigger than the Indian Division of Polaris. But company vs. company Polaris is a giant as compared to Harley Davidson. That is the number one reason HD can't beat Indian, at least in the short term. Polaris, as long as they remain dedicated to the Indian name, will always have the financials to produce the Indian lineup and bring similar products to market for less money.( 2024 HD CVO RG $44,5K, 2024 Challenger Elite $38,5K) All prior attempts to bring back Indian were by startups and/or smaller companies, envisioning a boutique bike at an extremely premium price. Polaris Indians are meant to be ridden, not display pieces.

I’ve seen this argument year round and this is my input on this. Harley is not about the chassis or the features. It’s about the way their engines are built. Indian, Honda, Kawasaki still follows the same pattern and many other motorcycle manufacturers other than Harley’s. The pattern is, built a whole engine where if there is a transmission issues, then basically the bike is totaled or due for a new engine. And because of that they use a single oil that lubricate the clutch pack, with the cylinder wall and their gear box. Clutch worns out quick on each ride. And that alone makes the oil impure. Then that oil has to clean the cylinder wall carbon which also gets dirty a lot faster. What they came up with is certain quantity of oil to diminishing the amount of carbon residue left over on each ride with carbon residue. Also they are aware their gears will eventually worn out. Harley broke that math. Harley motorcycle can go on over 300k miles with the same engine with just servicing each parts individually and because they wouldn’t need to remove the engine, it would be the OEM combustion with just internal parts swap or replaced over time. Minus the fact that Harley always have bore option to increase on displacements capacity. That’s coming from a mechanic standpoint. Now the general average Joe is not a mechanic, and specially because they wasn’t around their Harley that much of course they will look for features and storages. But face it, Harley is unique it’s why they sell more bikes also. I am planning to get an Indian down the line, but right now I love my 2023 Road Glide Limited as it is, and I know it’s better than an Indian.

the problem for harley is simple: they are not "allowed" to make a water cooled bagger. Indian is. as the epa gets more strict, water cooled has a much easier path forward. as for harley riders? let me just say, I have 2 bikes: a harley and a triumph. when I am on my harley, almost every time I pass another harley on the road, they give me the "hello". when I ride my triumph, they do not. nope not even once. just sayin.

I have been riding on 2 wheels for 35 years now. These type of bikes never got my attention, never. I own, since new, 2020 Goldwing DCT Tour, however I have to say. Indian dealer is the only dealer I stopped by to check the Pursuit Elite with the copper color cyl head. Boy....oooo...boy, what a bike, man. Indian did such an amazing job. The quality of craftmanship, the finish, the ride, just incredible. The only disappointed I had, was the lack of center stand and walk mode reverse, for such a heavy bike. I am waiting for the 25th anniversary Goldwing and if nothing crazy new then, Indian will be next for me. I would not buy an HD or even look at one, that is my take. All should ride what they like.
